Choose Percol coffee for Fairtrade Fortnight
26th February 2007
Change today and choose Percol coffee for Fairtrade Fortnight (26th February to 11th March). Percol is the multi-award winning coffee brand and an early pioneer of Fairtrade.
Percol has won a total of 24 awards for quality and taste, more than any other coffee. In 2006 its Fairtrade Organic Guatemala ground coffee won Gold at the Great Taste Awards. At the Soil Association’s Organic Food Awards 2006 Percol won bronze for its Americano ground coffee and was the first company to launch single origin Fairtrade coffee.
Percol is run by its founder Brian Chapman, who says; “I’ve always held a firm belief that coffee was more than just another beverage you kept in the cupboard. Coffee should be an adventure, taking you and your senses to some of the world’s most exciting places. Each variety is as unique as the environment where it is found. Percol coffees will connect you with the people who grow, buy, drink and live coffee. We want to ensure a sustainable future for coffee communities and therefore great quality coffees for years to come. Enjoy the adventure."
Percol supports the Coffee Kids Charity which establishes sustainable projects to improve the lives of those dependent on coffee farming. Projects include education, health-care and developing alternative sources of income. To date Percol has given the equivalent of $350,000 to Coffee Kids.
Percol’s range of coffees capture the ‘terroir’ of the country from which they originate — the situation of soil, climate and plant variety which the French use in ‘wine-making’. Celebrate Fairtrade fortnight with one of Percol’s coffees from Colombia. Colombia is a land of extremes. From Cartagena to Bogota the coffee adventurer will experience a real diversity of culture and beauty.
