A Taste of Africa Comes to London: Complete Your Taste Experience with a Coffee from Percol
2nd June 2008
No meal is complete without a steaming hot cup of smooth coffee. So, if you are visiting the Taste Festival this week (19th-22nd June, Regents Park) make sure you save some crowns and visit Percol at stand N2 for your after dinner coffee.
With some great restaurants exhibiting at Taste this year, Percol - pioneers in Fairtrade and organic coffee - has recommended some of the dishes that would be nicely complimented with a hot drink from the new Fairtrade Africa range to finish. If you’re not a coffee fan, there is also an African tea and low fat hot chocolate on offer at the Percol stand:
Multiple award winning and triple Michelin star Head Chef at Le Gavroche, Michel Roux jr will be serving:
- Terrine de volaille fumée et foie gras aux lentilles, vinaigrette aux truffes (Smoked chicken and foie gras terrine with lentils and truffle vinaigrette)
- Bisque de homard parfumee a l'Armagnac (Classic lobster creamed soup flavoured with brandy)
- Daube de boeuf a l'ancienne et gratin dauphinois (Braised beef in red wine and creamed potatoes)
Follow with a Fairtrade & Organic African Roast & Ground Coffee (227g, £2.89)
This deliciously smooth, rich and very well balanced coffee with fruit and wine overtones will follow the this reach meal perfectly – what better way to finish an meal from award winning, pioneering Le Gravouche than with a quality coffee from award winning, pioneering Percol.
At Tom's Place Head Chef Tom Aikens will be cooking up a sustainable feast of:
- Bouillabaisse with rouille and croutons
- Beer battered cod and chips with tartar sauce
- Vanilla bean, dark chocolate or pistachio ice cream
Follow with a Fairtrade African Tea (200g, £2.49)
This refreshing and full flavoured, fine aromatic tea is the perfect compliment to this traditional British cuisine.
London Restaurant of the year Trinity’s Head Chef Adam Byatt will be serving:
- Beef short rib cottage pie with onion, bone marrow and anise carrots
- Pigs trotters, crackling, pain poilane and sauce gribiche
- Razor clams linguini with chilli, garlic and lemon thyme
Follow with a Fairtrade African Instant Hot Chocolate (28g, 45p)
This smooth, velvety dark and rich premium chocolate has a continental feel, is HVO free and (unbelievably!) low fat. As this menu does not include a dessert, what better way to finish than with a rich creamy hot chocolate.
Percol has sourced the very finest ingredients for their new Fairtrade Africa range solely from Africa, using its twenty years of experience in bringing the best quality Fairtrade and organic coffees from Latin America to the UK.
